Most insurances do require a diagnosis of autism for ABA therapy services.
Wellmark BCBS does not currently require a diagnosis for ABA. -
We currently serve children ages 2–6 years old at our clinic in Urbandale, Iowa. Our clinic is intentionally designed around the needs of young children, allowing us to create meaningful peer interactions, developmentally appropriate learning opportunities, and a safe environment for everyone.
As children grow, differences in size, strength, and play styles naturally become more noticeable. By focusing on a younger age group, we can better support children’s learning while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for all families.

At New View Autism Clinic, we believe meaningful progress begins with meaningful relationships. Our child-led, relationship-focused approach to ABA therapy is built on the philosophy of Connection Over Compliance, recognizing that children learn best when they feel safe, respected, and engaged.
Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, we individualize every therapy program to each child’s strengths, interests, communication style, and developmental needs. Learning is woven into play, daily routines, social interactions, and meaningful experiences, creating opportunities for children to build communication, independence, social skills, and confidence in ways that feel natural and enjoyable.
We also believe families are essential members of the therapy team. Through open communication, parent coaching, and collaborative goal setting, we work together to support meaningful progress that extends beyond the clinic and into everyday life.
That’s the New View difference: evidence-based ABA therapy built on trust, relationships, and meaningful connections.
-
ABA therapy supports learning across many areas of development, including communication, social interaction, play, daily living skills, and emotional regulation. Longer therapy sessions allow children to practice these skills repeatedly throughout natural routines and everyday experiences, helping them apply what they learn in meaningful ways.
The length of therapy is based on each child’s individual strengths, needs, and goals—not a one-size-fits-all schedule. Your BCBA will work closely with your family to recommend a therapy schedule that provides the right level of support while meeting your child’s unique needs.
-
Parents and caregivers are an essential part of the ABA therapy team. At New View Autism Clinic, we believe meaningful progress happens when families and clinicians work together. That’s why we partner with you to understand your child’s strengths, celebrate successes, and develop practical strategies that can be used at home and in everyday life.
Your BCBA will meet with you regularly to review progress, answer questions, and provide parent coaching tailored to your family’s goals and routines. Our goal is to help you feel confident supporting your child’s development—not just during therapy sessions, but wherever life happens.
